Predator Calling & Hunting Loses an Original

Ken W. Brink, 75, of Globe, AZ Passes Away

One of Arizona’s original predator callers was laid to rest this past Saturday, July 18, 2009. Ken W. Brink of Globe, AZ started coyote and red fox calling in Oklahoma around 1950 using a Burnham “Coyote Whistle” and an instructional 78rpm audio record he bought from a hunting magazine classified advertisement. He moved to Arizona in the late 60′s and brought his passion for predator calling with him.

Welcome and an Introduction

Welcome to the blog and please let me introduce myself.

Hi, I’m Mark Healy and I write for Wildlife Callers Blog and compile other professional blog posts dedicated to the sport of wildlife calling, predator hunting and wildlife photography. I designed this blog to help hunters and photography buffs find useful information about calling all types of wildlife, including predators, birds, deer, elk, moose, and many other animals.

I have been a predator and wildlife caller in Arizona, Mexico, Idaho, and Missouri since 1986. In more than 23 years I have called thousands of animals including coyotes, fox, bobcat, bear, deer, antelope, elk, turkey, owls, hawks, eagles, and many others including the North American mountain lion (AKA cougar, catamount, and puma).

Our specialization at Wildlife Callers Blog is successfully locating and calling mountain lions using a variety of prey animal distress sounds and actual mountain lion vocalizations. Our method has taken years to develop, but the success speaks for itself—in three hunting seasons we’ve called in more than twelve cougars and harvested three.

Wildlife Callers Blog was started in July of 2009 to help new and seasoned callers alike achieve greater success in the field, through better education and knowledge dissemination. If your passion is photography, videography, or hunting & predator control, you’ll find a trove of information from the best known calling experts from around the world.
