Millage Called this Wolf with Coyote Distress Sounds - Hand Call

The Idaho Statesman reports that two wolves were legally harvested on the much anticipated opening day of Wolf hunting in the state of Idaho.  One wolf was shot while harassing a camper’s horses and this one pictured above, was called in at first light on opening day.  The hunter, Robert Millage, imitated the cries of a distressed/dying coyote and got an immediate reaction from this female wolf.

  • Yep, predator called it in….calling, my favorite way to hunt…it was very exciting….coyotes are fun enough, but something that is 3 times the size and runs in packs, well it’s a whole different ball game…thanks for posting and sharing story…just searching through the internet to see what all out there has ended up with my name and mug shot on it, some bad, some good…..good luck hunting to all of you on Wildlifecallers.com

  • Robert,

Thank you for the comment and we welcome you back to our blog anytime!

All wildlife callers are welcome on the blog – hunters, hikers, photographers, videographers, and anyone else with a passion for calling critters up close.

We’ve seen some of the negative commentary, personal threats, and bad press surrounding your hunt, and we think you’ve handled it with the utmost professionalism. Remember that fringe anti-hunters are the minority.

As always, we hope to see you in the field,

    Mark Healy
